About
It all started when…
My interest in bonsai began in 1987 after watching the movie “The Karakte Kid” & seeing Mr. Myagi working on his bonsai in one of the scenes. I was in awe that he could create such beautiful trees in a miniature form.
So then the questions began to flow without answers, until stumbling along a small bonsai stall where I then purchased my very first tree; a juniper which I can proudly say is still alive and well to this very day.
I have now been involved in bonsai for over ten years and ceramics for five. Both arts fascinate me, blending well and complimenting each other. I now have a micro nursery in Brisbane where I grow all my pre bonsai stock, as well as many different species of bonsai. After finishing my diploma in Horticulture a few years ago, I then studied ceramics at a number of different institutes, which I now work from my own studio hand building and wheel throwing using a variety of clays.
